A Place Where Curiosity, Creativity and Community Thrive
At Alphabets, we believe that the earliest years of a child's life are the foundation of their future learning and growth. Our Nursery is a vibrant and caring environment where each child is encouraged to explore, create, and discover the world around them with confidence and joy.
A longstanding Nursery within the Harrow community, close to Harrow on the Hill and Harrow Wealdstone stations, we benefit from excellent good transport links into central London.
As part of the Alpha Preparatory School community, we provide a seamless transition into Reception and beyond where your child’s educational journey will continue in a nurturing environment that promotes academic excellence, personal growth, and a lifelong love of learning.

Why Choose Alphabets Nursery?
“Children in the Early Years settle in quickly
and apply themselves enthusiastically to their learning because
staff know them as individuals and provide a welcoming environment”
Independent School’s Inspectorate (ISI) 2024
Individual Attention
Our Nursery is intentionally small to ensure each child receives the personalised attention they deserve. We nurture their unique talents, helping them to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
Specialist Teaching
Included in the Nursery timetable are a wide range of specialist lessons. We are privileged to have specialist music, PE and Spanish teachers teach the Nursery up to twice a week taught by our specialist Prep School staff.
A Safe and Nurturing Environment
We understand the importance of feeling safe and secure to be able to fulfil a child’s learning and development needs. Our Nursery provides a caring, warm, and stimulating atmosphere where children can express themselves freely and build trust in their familiar and friendly surroundings.
Healthy Food
At our Nursery, children enjoy a hot, freshly cooked lunch every day, prepared by our wonderful Kitchen Team, ensuring the children have a nutritious and balanced meal to fuel their afternoon activities. In addition, we offer a selection of healthy snacks at least twice a day, providing your child with the energy they need to stay active and engaged throughout their busy day with us.
Creative Curriculum
Our Alphabets Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to inspire a love of learning from the very beginning. We focus on the key areas of development:
- Early Literacy and Numeracy: Building a strong foundation for reading, writing, and math through stories, rhymes, and interactive activities.
- Creative Arts: Encouraging self-expression through art, music, dance, and drama.
- Outdoor Learning: Exploring nature and developing physical coordination through outdoor play and exploration.
- Social Skills: Developing friendships, communication skills, and emotional intelligence through guided social interaction and collaborative play.
- Wellbeing: Developing self-reflection and strategies to support emotional wellbeing under the leadership of a designated qualified staff member.
Our Facilities
Our Nursery is set within an intimate, purpose-built space within the school’s Pre-Prep block. You will find that we have made sure that every part of our community is organised, cosy, and filled with stimulating, enriching resources. Our classroom maximises learning and fun in every corner. From imaginative play stations to quiet reading nooks, every area of the room is intentionally set up to encourage discovery and creativity.
Our outdoor area also plays a key role in our Nursery experience, offering a safe, open space for children to run, explore, and learn.
We also benefit from use of the wider school facilities including: a fully resourced music room, a cosy school library, a spacious hall equipped with apparatus, a purpose built dining hall, a larger school playground, computer suite, a science lab and even a traditional design workshop.
Parent Partnership
Our team of qualified and experienced educators are passionate about making a positive impact on each child's learning journey. We pride ourselves on our close relationships with families and are always available to discuss your child’s progress or any questions you may have.
At our Nursery, we believe that a strong partnership between parents and staff is key to supporting each child's development. We work closely with families to create a nurturing and engaging environment where children can thrive. Through regular communication, events, and a shared commitment to each child's wellbeing, we ensure that every child receives the care, attention, and encouragement they need to reach their full potential. Together, we build a strong foundation for learning and growth.
At Alphabets Nursery we maintain strong links with parents through:
